We’re gonna be giving David something different this Valentine’s Day!!!  I’m thinking VIDEOS! I mean we’ve been sending him lots of stuff and he doesn’t even know what we look like! This is our chance! All Pinoy Arch Angels are welcome to send us the vids so i can compile them! the vids are due on Feb. 7 so send it to me ASAP!

An ‘Idol’ and a “Howard Stern Show” star announced for Starland

2008 American Idol star and chart-topping singer/songwriter David Archuleta stops by on February 26th. Archuleta, whose debut album has yielded Top 40 pop tracks like “Crush” and “Angels,” was last season’s runner up on the Fox program. Another David, ne’ Cook, took last year’s top honor.

David Archuleta-David Archuleta

Behind every American Idol winner, there is a pissed off runner-up, desperate to stick it to Simon Cowell and his cronies and become an even bigger star than expected.

And in David Cook’s pageboy, the annoyingly named David Archuleta, they have found the perfect piece of pop cuteness to pull this off. One look at the post-rejection success of Jennifer Hudson and Chris Daughtry is ample proof that revenge is probably the best way to heal a broken dream.

Eighteen-year-old Archuleta may share a name with his “nemesis”, but where it matters, the two are very different. Where Cook trades in drowned in guitars muscle rock, Archuleta cuts a dandier figure (not in a Clay Aiken way though) that flaunts his sweetly matured voice and classic pop leanings.

In his super-long liner notes (allegedly 3 500 words in length) he thanks (along with his church, BFFs, various hangers-on) a few of his musical influences, namely Natalie Cole, Stevie Wonder, Eva Cassidy, John Mayer and Jason Mraz. And he has certainly chosen them well.

The soulful tinge in his big hit “Crush” starts the album off a melancholic note, but as soon as the chorus hits, goosebumps are guaranteed. And, admittedly, it’s rather adorable that an 18-year-old boy has a song about nursing a crazy crush on a girl while sounding like he really, really means it. The so-soppy-it’s-endearing “Touch My Hand” is his best song. It’s got a lovely bit of falsetto action going on in the chorus, the piano melody is pure Coldplay, and you can just picture teenage girls going gooey whenever they hear it. Archuleta also does a pretty decent cover of Robbie Williams’s played out “Angels” (which Archuleta performed during Idol).

Like a Jonas brother with the wrong surname, and a less ambitious stylist, David Archuleta will steal your heart with his catchy pop confessionals.

I have three favorites.   Snarkyarchies, teamarchie.com, archuletaphilippines.  Common to all is the obvious love for our David.  Snarkyarchies… It’s so much fun reading all the snarky comments and they’re pretty fast in uploading all davidstuff.  Teamarchie.com is where most of my international friends are posting!  Haha!  archuletaphilippines is the site I am most proud of, because the archietects and archienoys are so passionate in supporting David.

What is the most memorable David Archuleta quote for you?

I travelled 10k miles to watch David perform during the tour in Pennsylvania!  I was in the States for only 5 days with two days of it just traveling!  Gosh!  But my persistence paid off because I had a chance to meet and talk to him for 30 minutes!!!

Have you ever gotten into fights with anyone because of David?

Yeah.  During finale night, with my husband, who is a Cookie!  Haha!

Who is your favorite Archietect/Archienoy?

No favorites here.  I looooovvvveeee ALL the Archietects and Archienoys!

What is your dream for the Pinoy fans?

For the Pinoy fans to gather in an exclusive venue with David as the guest of honor!

How much do you love David?  What are you willing to do for him?

Love him dearly like my own son.   I am willing to do anything! As long as I have resources and it doesn’t mar my great relationship with my husband!  Hahaha!

What is your message to all of David’s fans?

Continue to support and love David!  This boy is worth our love and adoration because he knows how to appreciate and give back to us fans! AND be more passionate in recruiting more new fans for David!

What is your message to David Archuleta? 

My message for D is for him to always stay as loving and grounded as he is now because he will be very big in the very near future.  I want him to continue sharing his gift of music to the world.  We will always be here for him!  No matter what
