A response for Angels for a Cause. A Thank You Video
As I was watching the video posted yesterday about the Rising Star Outreach program, I realized that the fulfillment of being a David Archuleta fan is not measured in the number of concerts, pictures, items that he/she attended, shot or gained with his Idol, but in the many ways of sharing David’s vision in spreading his heart desires.
I was moved by his unwavering kindness in helping other’s lives. Dedicating fractions of what he has brought smiles to people in need. Smiles that brought light to those darkened corners of people’s hearts. People who lost hope then, but now regained with strong foundations.
The video below was inspired by a humble angel, who from the heavens, came down to earth, to reach out his hands, even to the far corners of the world…to touch a thousand lives.
I am definitely proud to spread my wings and say that I’m an ArchAngel! I am not ashamed of it!
David you are an ICON of kindness. David, you are a HERO!
Crush’ First Anniversary

OMG! August 1st marks Crush First Anniversary!!
Where were you that time last year?
Here’s my story:
So where were you that time last year? Tell us your story!!I was working on a graveyard shift that time and my ‘lunch’ period was around 7PM. If I remember it correctly, Z100, the radio station where Crush premiered, had David to guest on their morning show and at the same time to premiere Crush, David’s first single off his first album. Anyway, I remember rushing down to the Internet shop in the ground floor of our building (cause back then I didn’t have internet connection with my work) and I remember eating a take out from Jollibee (which was also in the ground floor). I remember laughing when David was interviewed and I remember almost crying when I heard Crush. I think the interview lasted for only 20 minutes; I was streaming on Z100′s site along with millions of D’s fans all over the world. After Crush, there’s another 10 mins of interview (again, if I’m not mistaken this was the time when a caller said to David on air: David you are my crack, which was really funny and I swear I cracked so hard, pun intended lmao). I remember playing the song 5 more times which was the reason why my boss gave me a warning for being 10 minutes late after my lunch period but I didn’t have any regrets at all. (I have to play it 5 times cause I was writing the lyrics of the chorus.) I remember squeeing when I got home because all my archienoy friends were still online and we were gushing about the song. I remember 4 days after Magic 89.9 started playing the song and I remember how we bombard them with request. I remember RX 93.1 adding the song to their playlist a day before the song was released in iTunes (August 12). I remeber playing the song over and over and over for weeks. There are a lots of things that I remember that time but I think this post is getting loooooong, sorry. hahaha
In Honor of Crush:
Archies LET’S ALL UNITE!
Here’s what I suggest we do.
- Request CRUSH to our local radio station. We can also tell them that it’s Crush’ Anniversary haha.
- Keep TOUCH MY HAND at the number 1 spot in MYX (for 8th week).
- Vote for TOUCH MY HAND/ZERO GRAVITY in all radio stations.
- If you haven’t, buy David Archuleta’s CD D:
If you have any suggestions, please write it in the comments
Thanks Snarky for the reminder.
by the way, here’s the video of David’s reaction upon hearing Crush on Elvis Duran show.

Simply…David
Naree told us about RJ yesterday, a US-based archienoy, that he was the one who initiated the “David, Mahal Kitaaaa!” shout to David. Here’s his recap about his San Jose/Sacramento experience
Simply…David.
We have all seen it – 4 talented musicians doing double-duty as back-up vocals, an austere stage, outfits common to any ordinary boy/ man. Make no mistake. David’s set is NOT plain; it’s simple. It needs to be for the complexities are found in what emanates from his lips. The focus is on David’s voice and what he accomplishes with it – the nuances of note changes, the dizzying runs and licks, the soulful intonations and inflections, the clarity of lyric delivery, and the seamless transitions between registers and octaves. It’s simply…David.
David’s performance is a trove of priceless discoveries, treasures the audience continues to cherish and marvel at long after David has left the stage. Amidst the simplicity, one cannot miss David’s defiant complaint of “…and I turn around; you’re with him now…”, the longing whisper of “…This is where it all begins so tell me it will never end…”, and the fervent promise in “…this crush ain’t going awaaay…”. One believes the honesty of “…if anyone can make me fall in love, you can…” and sympthasizes with David as he desperately wails “…Never let go!!!…”. On “WFM”, one cannot help but agree with his truthful self-mockery “…I can’t decide between the left side or the right…” or applaud his cheeky rebellion when he sings “…Thanks, but I’ll follow my heart instead…”. In the absence of visual distractions, the audience is immersed in the relevance of lyrics sung, the appropriateness of words chosen, and the sincerity of story-telling. With “Apologize”, one is engaged in David’s initial dilemma of to forgive or not to forgive which crescendos to a resolute and conclusive declaration “…It’s too late to apologize, it’s too late!!!…” complete with banging of piano keys. With “Zero Gravity”, David reminds the experienced of the unbridled joy of true love found while gives the inexperienced a glimpse of the exhilarating thrill of first love. And what David achieves with his voice is most evident in the a capella ending of “My Hands” where he issues an in-your-face challenge of “Clap your hands. Give me a beat, just a beat, and I’ll show you how to run circles around it.” David’s performance makes it ALMOST sacrilegious to text, tweet, or even briefly turn to one’s companion to say “He’s incredible!”. David’s organic connection to his music and lyrics ALMOST compels one to relinquish one’s membership as an archie/ angel for not shedding a tear. It’s simply…David.
We have all seen it – David “enters” hidden behind a curtain – BUT that’s when the “hiding” ends. Once the curtain drops, the simplicity of his set exposes David – raw and vulnerable – to a possible bum note or a probable off-key transition. That is courage embodied. Hardly a note to cringe about. That is artistry manifest. There is no need for smokescreens. No incessant thrashing of hair, no sexy sashaying up and down the stairs, no flirting with the guitarist to mask an unsupported lower register. No “pretend to be a rocker” scream to camouflage a high note unreached and unsustained. David needs no gimmickry. No shiny necklace, no background screens showing TV clips to distract from warbled and indecipherable lyrics. David simply opens his mouth and delivers. No calling a kid on stage to sing a duet with in an attempt to be cute and engaging. David simply stands there and IS. Devoid of the glitter and lighting effects, David shines like a star suspended in the blackest of nights and glows like a gem found in the darkest of caves. It’s simply…David. (Hint: I stayed in San Jose so I know…)
David’s performance was chockfull of stomps, bounces, and jumps. Don’t get me wrong. I enjoy the furrowed forehead, flirty brows, shoulder shrugs, and hunkerdowns as much as the next fanatic fan. But all of these and the head whips, clenched fists, diva hand are natural extensions, better yet, honest physical manifestations of the emotions David feels. They are present not to cloud, not to disguise any shortcomings but to enhance narration of the songs. The archu-movements are like ice cream served beside the apple pie that is David’s voice. Even without the ice cream, it’s still one of the best dang apple pie one has ever had. ‘Cause it’s simply…David.
I concur.
What Happened in TsokNut
Here’s what I remember from yesterday’s ‘event’. I only had 3 hours of sleep before there and my brain was all fuzzy because of squeeing and Harry Potter. LOLs. If you have something to add, please tell us
- Meet up time was 3PM. Me, Naree , Louise and Maecy came around 3:30PM. Sorry guys!
- The reason for the delay: David Archuleta. We were at Naree’s car around 2:30PM and she asked us to help her carry the archustuff. We squeed/fangirled upon seeing the stuff. And it took an hour for the 4 of us to calm down. Really.
-Attendees: Gen, Carley, Arlene, Krista, sisters Jayzel and Monique, Jundie, Sam, Aya, Hanna, Karissa, Feesh and Ditas.
- Raffle began. Naree was giving away 5 Big posters, 4 Small Posters, 3 I ♥ David Archuleta shirts, and 3 Build-A-Bear shirts. I won nothing
![]()
- Picture taking with Naree’s totoro stuff toy and Scruff Puppy stuff toy from Build-A-Bear. Cuteeeee!
- Naree was showing us the pictures she took at those 4 concerts.
Naree’s tale:
** Her first Meet and Greet was at Seattle. Naree said to Hi to David, and that she traveled all the way to the Philippines and she represents the Filipino fans, and that she’ll be at 4 other concert venues etc. She just babbled hahaha
** She almost lost her phone. While she was at the airport going to the Las Vegas show she realized she left her cellphone at the hotel. Good thing a US archie was still at the hotel so Naree asked her to get the phone from Naree’s room.
** She has a 4 pictures with David. Jealouuuuuuuuus.
** One picture shows her and David holding a small banner for ARCH (Angels Reaching out.. a Cause for Hope).
** A fan said to David something about his crazy international fans. There’s a mention of us (pinoy fans) and it was really funny. Too darn I can’t remember it. FAIL
** Naree saw Ray, David’s Manager. Ray asked her (I’m guessing in a fearful tone): Are the others here?
** Naree replied: No, it’s just me.
** I literally LOLed.
** There were a number of Filipinos in the Los Angeles Meet and Greet. After the 15-minute M&G and David was on his way out, the Pinoys said “David, Mahal kitaaaaa!!”
** And because David is awesome he replied: “Awww.. Sehlahmaht.”
** My heart exploded with tears.
** David singing ALTNOY (Piano Acoustic Live) while I’m typing this, so I’m ajhsldlaksjdlksajd
