DAVID ARCHULETA…FOREVERMORE, is a collection of all original Filipino classic love songs written in English and composed by some of the Philippines’ renowned songwriters like Ogie Alcasid, Louie Ocampo, Jay Durias, Jimmy Antiporda, Cecil Azarcon, among others. The collection showcases some of the best love songs, the country has produced. The songs will definitely invoke feelings of love and hope in every listener.
“Forevermore” and “Hold On” (both by Side A), “You Are My Song” (Martin Nievera) “I’ll Never Go” (Nexxus), “Tell Me” (Joey Albert), “Reaching Out” (Gary Valenciano), and “Rainbow” (South Border)” are some of the songs included in the album. The album pays tribute to not only OPM (Original Pilipino Music) but also to his countless fans who have been loyal throughout his career. The album is a gift and labor of love to his devoted fans. David wants his fans to know, that he loves and appreciates them wherever he may go, Forevermore.
“I wouldn’t say that I sound better than the original singers because the singers here are so amazing. But I would hope that I could pay tribute to them with this album,” David said at the press conference for the album.
To show gratitude for David’s contribution to OPM, Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-Aawit president Ogie Alcasid handed David a plaque of appreciation for recording an OPM album.
As an added treat to David’s fans, the album will also include “Nandito Ako”, from the TV5 mini-series of the same name.
The David Archuleta story began on Dec. 28, 1990, the day David was born to Jeff and Lupe Archuleta in North Miami, Florida. His father was a jazz musician who was always playing the trumpet around the house. His mother was a singer who performed locally with her three sisters in a group known as the Mayorga Sisters. David always enjoyed music, but wasn’t particularly fond of his dad’s jazz trumpet playing, covering his ears “because it was so loud.”
But then came one of those pivotal moments, when David was six years old and watched a videotape with his younger brother as his family was relocating from Florida to Utah. It was the 10th anniversary concert of the stage musical “Les Miserables” and David became captivated with the music, playing the tape over and over, memorizing each song, complete with cockney accents. Then he discovered and fell in love with other musicals like “Evita” and “Into the Woods.” He also listened to his mother’s Selena and Gloria Estefan albums, but he didn’t pay attention to radio much and wasn’t really aware of pop music, until he watched the first season of “American Idol.”
The rest, as they say, is history.

Featured: Mega Promo Weekend for Nandito Ako
by Lorma Balangue (@Lorms)
It is the first weekend since David left the Philippines. It has also been a week since Nandito Ako aired. What abetter way to spend the weekend than to go out and promote David’s show!
A week ago, I dropped by TV5′s office to pick up hundreds of posters and flyers for Archuleta Philippines to use to help promote the show. As early as Sunday last week, Naree started distributing them to members of Archuleta Philippines to distribute to potential viewers.
Nandito Ako posters
Nandito Ako flyersArchuleta Philippines also embarked on a Promotional Power Campaign for Nandito Ako and created materials in addition to the posters and flyers that others can download and print themselves for the promotion (design c/o Kricket and Ferj).
Archuleta Philippines promo materialsAnd Archuleta Philippines even made the campaign more exciting by releasing this announcement to die-hard, hard core promoters of Nandito Ako:
If you feel like you’ve already been doing your best to promote Nandito Ako, then this is probably good news for you. A reward may be on its way!
AP, in coordination w TV5, is giving away special archustuffs, and A SPECIAL GRAND PRIZE for winners to our “NANDITO AKO TODO PROMOTE!” contest. Watch out for our post on this later today, and you may just win something from JOSH BRADLEY himself. *Wink*. (Hint: When you do all of the above suggestions for promotions, make sure you document it – take a video or picture. Who knows, you may be our lucky winner!) Be sure to follow us @archuletaphils @kricket_rc234!
If you haven’t done your part yet, then better get your fangirl mode on and power campaign for David!
So, here I am documenting my weekend of non-stop, shameless promotion of Nandito Ako. It was so much fun seeing the reaction of the people I’ve talked and how many of them wanted more copies once they saw who was on the show.
1) Posters outside tricycles (a motorcyle with a sidecar, often used as mode of transportation in the Philippines for short distances) – I got these tricycle drivers to help me put up the posters at the back of their tricycles. They even asked me for more posters that they can share with their buddies.

4) In buses
On our way to Sand Fernando, La Union and Baguio, JackRyan and I had the bus conductor put up posters inside the bus near the entrance/exit.
In provincial buses5) In events – Panagbenga Festival (Flower Festival) in Baguio
Knowing how hundreds of thousands of people, local and international visitors, flock Baguio during its annual Flower Festival (also known as Panagbenga) , JackRyan and I went up to Baguio to share in the festivities and spread the word about Nandito Ako. We targeted those who were taking pictures with TV5′s float and they were excited about the show when they found out David Archuleta is on it. Some even asked for multiple bookmarks as keepsakes.

“I wanna watch Nandito Ako!”
Getting friendly with Panagbenga visitorsWe also targeted the ice cream vendors since they move around a lot and people can easily spot the posters when they buy from them.

My welcome to our visitors LOLIt was a tiring yet productive weekend. Hopefully, everyone we talked to will start tuning in to Nandito Ako this Monday. They’re in for a treat – David Archuleta in bunny suit!

IN/SIGHT: DAVID ARCHULETA’S NANDITO AKO EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS
IN/SIGHT: DAVID ARCHULETA’S NANDITO AKO EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS
By EDGAR O. CRUZ
The best expectations for Nandito Ako’s pilot last night happened without too much effort! On its first airing, lead actor David Archuleta appeared when the mini-serye opted to start with David singing the team song in a grand concert in the present time. This effective technique avoided fans from waiting in case of a straight retelling of the story.
Nandito opted for straight narrative allowing logical storytelling and avoiding the use of flashbacks that could be confusing to young viewers.
A fast-paced series, the first edition managed to summarize a plausible start-up story in all of 45 minutes, from the back story of Josh Bradley, David’s character, how he got separated from his mother (as played by G Tongi) to live abroad and his decision to return to the country as a singing idol. Director Mac Alejandre effectively mixed big and small scenes to recreate the story, mixing tenderness and tension to kick off a story worth following.
Early at this point, it shows that Nandito Ako is enjoying heavy placements from advertisers. Even before it could start, commercials started airing. This distribution scheme was effective enough to prevent viewers from thinking/feeling they were watching TVCs instead of the drama series.
Willie Revillame’s Wil Time Big Time ended right on time at exactly 9:15 p.m., preventing viewers from waiting which could have led them to channel surf or dose off if it aired overtime.
Nandito Ako should set up a model for TV5 how to do its shows. Instead of keeping up with competition, it must create its own rules. By featuring an actor with real instead of expected demand, TV5 effectively focused on the show’s promotion instead of creating demand for it.
If I were you, I will not rely on the ratings charts as Kantar Media / TNS and People’s Rating will naturally report ABS-CBN and GMA-7 ratings respectively as superior to TV5’s for the timeslot. If you enjoyed Nandito Ako, that’s enough proof it’s a blockbuster hit!
