UPDATE (June 8, 2010)
I just received word from National Bookstore that they have received the invoice for the second batch. Four hundred (400) books are expected to shipped on June 11 and expected to arrive in Manila on June 19.
They will distribute copies to almost all if not all branches of National Bookstore NATIONWIDE.
So, expected books to be available at your nearest National Bookstore or PowerBooks (sister company of NBS).
I think you can call make reservations guys, so they will know how many books to send to each branch.
No news on book signing…still working on it.

Hi guys, Naree here. Even if you haven’t seen me around a lot lately, my heart still belongs to David!
The release of David’s book is right around the corner. There is news here and there about book signings and performances upon its release in the USA, and opportunities on how to obtain a signed book -
– for a price… a high price$$$$$! A price most of us cannot afford.
I know we all want to have the book in our hands at the same time it is released in the USA, but , alas, it cannot be so. Even if you pre-order it, it will take a few days or weeks to get to you. And it is ridiculous that the shipping cost is higher than the cost of the book itself. So, I gue
ss most us will be waiting for its release here.
For the past several months I have been in contact with representatives from National Bookstore and Penguin Books (the distributors of the book) and we are trying to bring David here for a book signing. A few days ago, Anna (@ascphil) and I finally had a meeting with them. There is nothing definite yet, and I wasn’t going to say anything until we have something c
oncrete, but, with the release approaching, there are some details you guys have to take note of.
The release of the book in the USA will be on June 1. The books will be shipped to National Bookstore only on June 1. It will take about 1 or 2 weeks to get here and pass through customs. So, according to National Bookstore, the book will be on sale here by the 2nd or 3rd week of June. They will tell me the exact date when they know. I believe they have ordered only 500 books for this first delivery. Their priority will be the Metro Manila branches. I don’t know which provincial branches will be sent copies. Depending on the demand, they will place a second order. How long this will take is difficult to say. If the demand is high worldwide, then we might have to wait for a 2nd printing of the book. Again, we don’t know how long this will take. So, if you want the first printing of the book, make sure you get your copy this June.
IMPORTANT DETAILS FOR BOOK SIGNING: (if it pushes through)
1. Only books bought from National BookStore and Powerbooks will be allowed to be signed.
2. Yes, books bought this June can be signed when the book signing happens
3. When you buy your books this June, PLEASE KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS! You will have to present this receipt during the book signing as PROOF that you bought the book in NBS or Powerbooks.
TO INTERNATIONAL FANS
If the book signing does happen, we are hoping that our ASIAN neighbors (like Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia,Australia, Hong Kong, Japan,etc), and even non-Asian neighbors, would come to the book signing, too. But, again, the book has to be bought from National Book Store or Powerbooks. Books ordered or bought elsewhere will not allowed to be signed.
I must reiterate, there are no definite plans yet!!! But the wheels are moving… It all depends on David, his management,and his publishers.
I could say don’t get your hopes up…but being fanatical fans, I know that is impossible! So, let’s all pray hard that this will push through.
But this I can say… PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE…lol!….and we are virtuous fans of David, aren’t we?

National Bookstore has found out about our site and other David Archuleta sites and they cannot believe how many there are all over the world. And they do read our sites. They are aware that we would do anything for David!
They are amazed at how many calls they have gotten, asking about the book.
If they see how great the demand is, maybe it will be easier for them to convince the publishers to bring David here naree

Naree and I had a great meeting with the NBS and Penguin Phils. representatives. They were very excited about the whole idea of bringing David to Manila and being a major sponsor. We are hoping and praying that the idea will become a reality.
I’m surprised that there is no news yet of an LA booksigning, ironically because David is in and out of LA a lot lately. We’ll pray as well that you get an LA schedule soon.

hello archuleta philippines, I’m so excited about the book!!! I’ve been saving for it!!! Regarding the book, could we have it reserved now since there are only about 500 copies to be shipped? and on the book signing (i really really hope it pushes through), could we bring some stuffs too like cds and shirt for him to sign? It’s a little bit unethical to have him sign those in a book signing but is it possible? and lastly, could we give him stuffs during the booksiging, like totoro stuff toys, and dried mangoes since he likes those so much? Can the people who would line-up for book signing be allowed to take their picture (while David is signing the person’s book)? I mean come on, it would mean a lot to the fans. Unlike the Greet & Bye at MOA last year which only made the fans feel a lot farther from him.
