Look who is here. We sneaked him in during t-shirt. He has a huge smile on his face. Can you give it up for David Archuleta. Hey, buddy.
Hey.

I’ve been dying to meet you.
Oh, really?

‘Cause I wanted to see if your teeth were that pretty in person and they are.
*laughs* Oh.

They are. Did you wear braces?
I haven’t actually.

You have great teeth for no braces.
Oh, thanks.

That is so cool.
Thanks. I always thought I, I still think I need braces.

No, no, no. Not at all.
Oh, really? Cool. Thanks. *laughs*

Okay, let’s go down the list. There you are and the record people are coming up to you. What happened then? Did they come up to you and you meet a lawyer and you sign a deal? ‘Cause you aren’t that old, this is a whole new business thing for you.
That happened pretty fast. It was, uh, it was like the night after the finale, like, uh, no, it was that night. We had the finale that Wednesday night, big finale and ending of the show. I went back to my dressing room and then I had the meeting with the label. *laughs*

So, it was that fast?
Yeah! I was at the dressing room and I was like ‘well, I had a good time’ and then Simon Fuller and all them came in and were like ‘we’re really excited to start working with you, David, and it will be fun to, uh, start with the album.’ I was like whoa.

*Crush plays*

It is always nice to sit here and listen to your first hit on the Weekly Top 40 Countdown. He is David Archuleta, right here next to me. Rick Dees. Number 14, Crush. Let me become like a magazine for a second.

Favorite food?
Favorite food. I love Thai food. Thai food all the way. Pad Thai.

Favorite drink?
Drink. Water, I guess. Water and orange juice. I love orange juice.

Most memorable pet

I, I really liked my hamster. I was sad when it, uh, passed away. *laughs* But it lasted for, for a few years and it was dwarf hamster. It was just cute. It was really fun to watch.

Favorite sport?
Uh, favorite sport. I, well, I, I’m, I’m really into running. But to play at school when we did like PE and stuff I loved lacrosse. Lacrosse is just a lot of fun. It is kind of like street hockey. Which I love street hockey, too, but, so it’s kind of like that but you’re running. So I love street hockey and lacrosse.

You’ve got so much going on. This is just the beginning. Can you come back again and help us run the Weekly Top 40?
Oh, sure. Yeah.
