May 16, 2009. D DAY. A year after.

Most of us, if not all, probably had the best moment in our lives on May 16, 2009. The day when David Archuleta went on the stage in MOA grounds to celebrate his music, with his fans--us. Who would have thought he’ll be coming to Manila that soon? We definitely know that he’ll be coming here but not that soon, right? I guess, our prayers were answered in 2009. DAVID. ARCHULETA. LIVE. IN. MANILA. BEST DAY EVER.

Good things come to those who wait. INDEED.

I’m not gonna go and ramble here, ramble there ’cause this recap would definitely be a novel in no time. I’m gonna try and make this recap short but sweet. The operative word is TRY. So, please, bear with all the words. Haha. It’s a FUN moment!

Anyhow, MOA grounds were packed by fans. GAZILLION! OK, so not GAZILLION, but still a HUGE crowd--around 40,000 or more SCREAMING fans. If there’s one thing that’s constant throughout the week, the SCREAMS would win hands down. Thousand and thousands of screaming fans--young or old--screamed for David Archuleta. (See? SCREAM is a constant word here) Lights on, not that special. Then, it went dark. MAGIC. SCREAMS. Music, guitar, bass, drums. MAGICAL SCREAMS once again. David comes out. Waving. Smiling. Starts singing. Best couple of minutes ever. WOW. One word: AMAZING. Wait! It’s more that amazing--this is probably the best description. He is beyond amazing. These songs he sang--Touch My Hand, A Little Too Not Over You, Barriers, You Can, My Hands, My Hands, Your Eyes Don’t Lie, To Be With You, Don’t Let Go, Waiting for Yesterday, Stand By Me/Beautiful Girls, A Thousand Miles, Angels, Zero Gravity and Crush--he sang brilliantly! I must say, he’s definitely a great LIVE performer. [emphasis on live] Just WOW. Seems like May 16 was just yesterday, eh? Re-living the moment. Words can’t even describe and express how it felt during the concert. The band was awesome. The crowd was great and loud. David is perfection.

The Thank You.

David summed up the Manila show best--UNBELIEVABLE--I can’t say Salamat enough for the amazing time we’ve had here…. He was tired and all but he took time to tell us his experience here in the Philippines, how great the concert was, the crowd and most importantly how thankful he is to the fans. David’s sincerity is undeniable. He’s speechless. Awwww ♥…THANK YOU, DAVID!

We might disagree at some point but we’ll definitely agree that May 16, 2009 is one of the best moments in our lives. David Archuleta brought us all together and continues to and this is what matters. Never forget to remember that day. It’s something we should celebrate year after year after year.

Hoping for DALIM 2. As they say, good things come to those who wait…

Maybe, our prayers will be answered again.
