David Archuleta Explains Split WIth Record Label, Management
by Christie D’Zurilla
David Archuleta was not exactly dumped by Jive Records, the “American Idol” runner-up said in a video blog posted Tuesday on his official YouTube channel, despite the many headlines to that effect that have popped up since Friday.
“It just felt like the right time to part ways,” Archuleta said in the video blog post, titled “Decisions, decisions.”
Regular Ministry readers already heard of the split Friday as a parting of the ways between Archie and Jive, though we’d now like to add that the 20-year-old said he’s broken up with his management team as well.
“Decisions,” Archuleta had tweeted cryptically on Thursday — anyone seeing a theme yet? — the day before the split with Jive went public. “They are scary things before knowing what could happen after you make them, but I’m excited for what the future holds.”
He spoke Tuesday about how Jive had changed as a company, mentioning his own growing self-awareness. There were, he said, “offers that I continue working with them, but it just didn’t feel like the right thing. I loved working with them, they’ve been so great, you know, the people there are just awesome… I’ve learned a lot from them.”
About his management team? “I realized that this is not where I need to be right now,” he said. Then, because he’s David Archuleta, he clarified and praised: “Not like they were doing anything bad or anything wrong, you know, they’ve been great.”
He told fans he’s been working on writing, solo, to see what comes out, and is figuring out what direction he wants to head in as an artist.
“Only recently I’ve learned… it’s an obvious thing, but it just took me a while to realize,” he said, “I have control over my life. The decisions I make, that’s what’s going to make or break not [only] my career, but my life as well.”
“I’m sorry for scaring you guys,” he said.

David Archuleta Goes On The Record About Leaving Jive
by Brian Mansfield, USA Today
David Archuleta addresses his split from Jive Records in the new video blog he posted to his YouTube channel Tuesday. “I know a lot of you have been worried about it,” he says.
Noting that Sony Music president Barry Weiss and David’s A&R representative, Jeff Fenster, both had departed the organization recently, David says, “They’re changing as a company. And, then, I feel like I’m changing as an artist. I’m changing the direction I’m going, too. There were offers to continue working with them, but it just didn’t feel like the right thing now.”
David also has left his management company. “It took me a while to realize that have control of my life,” he says. “The decisions that I make, that’s what’s going to break not necessarily just my career, but my life, too. So I’m just excited where to go, the direction that I’m hoping to go now with music.
David apologizes if he scared any of his fans but thanks them for their support. “It means a lot … that you’re still supportive, still positive, and I appreciate that so much.”

New Music Reviews
Lol, news is a bit slow since D is out in the wonderful United Kingdom…
Btw, just out of curiosity, I am truly wondering why David isn’t headlining this tour. D does have the higher billboard charting and single sales, right? Idk. Just wondering. Archulovato fans don’t kill me please. Much love!

David’s Zero Gravity
Zero Gravity
If you’ve read the interview with Mike Krompass then you’d know what “zero gravity” is. Well to explain this is a song that David co-wrote but hmm.. Jive didn’t include it in the cd. So it’s being shopped around for other artists. ![]()
Of course David is gonna get credit for the writing but its not gonna be the same as him singing it. The vid is a demo done by Lim of Jackie Boyz not David. ![]()
So listen to it and read the lyrics *gets tissue and blows nose*. Why jive? Why?
Listen for yourself, and tell us what you think.
Sorry guys. Although it pains me to take this down, we have to. And please don’t spread the songs elsewhere. We wouldn’t want the record company to be mad at us. Let’s just hope the reason they’re making a big fuss of it is because they might include these on his next cds? *batting my eyelashes at jive and saying pretty please* lol.
The Fans have spoken: Jive Trades TMH for ALTNOY as 2nd SINGLE! – OMG!!!!!!!
A Little Too Not Over This News!!!!
From FOD
Next Single Will Be A Little Too Not Over You!
FOD has learned from a very reliable source that David Archuleta’s next single will be A Little Too Not Over You! This news was released to FOD just a few minutes ago.
Jive decided last night to switch the next released single from Touch My Hand to A Little Too Not Over You.
David is currently working with Jeff and others to conceptualize the video for ALTNOY! The video for Touch My Hand was all planned out, so the team is very busy switching gears right now.
Are we deliriously happy?! YES!
Our lovable source said that he is very happy about this: ALTNOY is a happy song and yet still a nice contrast to Crush, and best of all, David co-wrote it.
Fans make a difference.
