PROMOTIONAL POWER CAMPAIGN! ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW TO PROMOTE @DAVIDARCHIE’S “NANDITO AKO” SHOW!

You love David Archuleta, and you want the entire Philippines to know how amazing his new TV series is. But have you been doing something about it? David has spoiled us so much, singing songs when we asked for “one more”, signing a hundred extra photocards, recorded an OPM album, among other things he’s done and will do to “make sure there is enough material for the fans” when he leaves. And we can reciprocate that by being good fans! Help David, help TV, help us promote David and his new show, Nandito Ako to basically everyone out there who still isn’t watching it.

TWITTER TRENDING

The social media is a powerful, powerful tool and these days, trending topics are treated as some sort of measure of popularity, telling people what/who is the “most talked about”. And since basically 80% of the Archies are internet residents, it would make sense of we take advantage of the hours we spend online by always adding David Archuleta or Nandito Ako related phrases.

So far, we’ve trended: Nandito Ako, Josh Bradley and Oh My Josh Bradley, so its safe to assume we try to affix these terms as much as possible to our tweets, even when the trending party isn’t on, so the Archies who don’t know what to trend, will know. And of course, we can all go on a full trending mode during scheduled parties — which is basically, during weeknights (weekdays for Int’l peeps), an hour or two before the show airs.

Some tips for trending.

1. Use Tweetdeck. In this post (scroll down towards the end), there’s a short explanation why its good to sign up for multiple accounts and power tweet your way to trending with this app.

2. Make sure all the words in your target phrase begin with a capital letter, or are in title caps. Eg. Nandito Ako . Notice that all trending topics are in title caps, apart from those hashtagged.

3. Trend “Nandito Ako” w/o hashtags. This way, it’s faster to type and of course, trend. More importantly, even those randomly mentioning Nandito Ako, gets counted in the trending too.

4. Try and participate to hosted TT games. These trending games are held not only to spark your creativity, but also so the trending party becomes more fun! This way, you won’t feel tired or feel like you’re obligated. We at @archuletaphils, try to host TT games, so be sure to check on our tweets.

TEXT BRIGADE

@MyDearWriter strongly encourages text brigading our promotions so that we get to reach out to those who are not online, and don’t see the trends.

And we know that you’ve probably already texted the living daylights out of your friends and family (but that’s not to say you’re stopping the daily texts! haha) so here’s a cool idea from @nettekulet and @ferjiperj, for a bombastic text brigade campaign.

Gather “cellphone number” lists.

1. Pass by loading stations, and charm your way into acquiring their treasure trove of cellphone numbers. Perhaps, a small gift (maybe a Nandito Ako bookmark? a contract to purchase text credits? a smile? haha, it’s your call!) in return will work.

2. If you’re a college or highschool student, its high time you befriend those active students at registry booths (for clubs, workshops, and other event registrations) and get a copy of those cellphone numbers.

Then, register for unlimited texting in your mobile network and promote Nandito Ako to your heart’s content! You can also share this list with your other friends who are also on unlimited texting on other networks.

If you’re worried about what to text, you can always check @MyDearWriters’ tweets — She always has this wonderful way with words, capturing the heart of the story, in a sentence or two. Otherwise, you can just say “Don’t miss out on this year’s hit TV series from TV5 – Nandito Ako, starring David Archuleta, Jas Curtis-Smith & Eula Caballero. Weeknights, after Wil Time Big time”. That should do it ;)

RADIO/MUSIC VIDEO REQUESTS

Plug.

1. Request/Vote for David’s songs, and if possible, Nandito Ako. Then, make a short plug about David’s new show, Nandito Ako: “David has a wonderful TV Show as Josh Bradley every 9PM on TV5. Please check it out!”. There are several ways you can do this, too:

A – post on Magic 89.9, RX 93.1, and other radio stations’ FB pages.
B – call during radio shows that allow greetings and dedications, and sneak a short plug in there.
C – tweet your requests/plugs.

All you need to know about radio stations’ time scheds and FB/twitter accounts are here.

2. Request/Vote on Music Channels. You may check MYX’s and CH V’s official websites for voting info (Google is your friend), and send in an e-request, or a text request/message to the VJ’s. As stated above, make your request, and sneak a short plug when you do.

3. Vote for David’s songs on chart central. Alternate votes between Nandito Ako & Wait. Any buzz is good, so let’s keep David’s songs atop the chart.

ACTUAL MARKETING

Hand out flyers.

AP is reproducing some 4000 or more black & white Nandito Ako promotional flyers and several hundred bookmarks and mini-photocards, and we are splitting these among different pick-up points across the metro. You can come back to this post when we have the “point-persons” listed below. You can drop by these areas and claim a few hundred flyers you can give out to just about anyone you know.

[this space is reserved for list of other pick-up points]

A. Mandaluyong
B. MRT/LRT/North Edsa; Trinoma/SM North Edsa
C. Taguig
D. Tondo

[this space is reserved for list of other pick-up points]

1. School, Workplace, Restaurants — share with workmates, classmates, leave flyers at the canteen, etc.
2. MRT, Buses, Jeepneys — on your way to work, or back home, hand out, or leave in seats
3. Barangay Halls, Churches, Stores — call your archufriends, and promote as a group! It’ll be fun!

Active Promotion

1. When in buses, restaurants or other places with television sets: Ask kindly to switch to TV5, and sweettalk your way into promoting Nandito Ako. Remember, the best way to promote Nandito Ako, is if casual viewers – nonfans – see the actual trailer. Now, they’re not going to see this if they don’t watch TV5, so MAKE. THEM. WATCH. Bear in mind: The customer is always right, haha!

2. Print out promotional material. AP put up a post where you can download the raw files, and print them on your own. You can always photocopy, too, for more copies.

A. Stick posters to your/your family’s car; or other vehicles such as tricycles, jeepneys
B. Ask permission from restaurants and stores if you can post posters and flyers on their windows/doors/counters.

3. If you’re a boss, class president, club moderator, etc. — use your power and hold “group viewings”, or “require” them to watch Nandito Ako, haha.

A SURPRISE FOR DIE-HARD, HARDCORE PROMOTERS!

If you feel like you’ve already been doing your best to promote Nandito Ako, then this is probably good news for you. A reward may be on its way!

AP, in coordination w TV5, is giving away special archustuffs, and A SPECIAL GRAND PRIZE for winners to our “NANDITO AKO TODO PROMOTE!” contest. Watch out for our post on this later today, and you may just win something from JOSH BRADLEY himself. *Wink*. (Hint: When you do all of the above suggestions for promotions, make sure you document it – take a video or picture. Who knows, you may be our lucky winner!) Be sure to follow us @archuletaphils @kricket_rc234!

If you haven’t done your part yet, then better get your fangirl mode on and power campaign for David!

David Archuleta @ Manila -- COS Book Signing

I totally forgot that I filmed the book signing! I missed the file cos I used my mobile phone to film this instead of a cam which I forgot to bring! If you are wondering how I got this vantage point, well, thank goodness I was wearing slip-on leather shoes cos I got to stand on my chair, LOL. After I got my book signed (my 3rd!) , I had to leave immediately cos I had to take Vee, an Archie from Australia to the airport. On my way out I met Mamang, the 88 yo Archie-grandma who is already a celebrity on her own right. Glad that she got to meet David again, woo-hoo!

Towards the end of this video, you can see & hear Vee, a Pinoy Archie based in Australia asking David to sign -- aside from her COS -- a picture of her 6-yo handsome son holding a copy of Chords of Strength. David was surprised but Vee got her wish!

“Archuleta back for another concert”

Woot David is featured on Manila Bulletin :)

Photobucket

MANILA, Philippines — David Archuleta’s Twitter description, “I’m David. I like music.” is probably the understatement of the century.

As a boy, David says it was “Les Miserables” that inspired him to begin singing. Ten years later, still just a boy, he took his singing hobby to the hilt and captivated audiences the world over when he, then at 16, took the “Idol” stage and gave his all – landing the runner-up spot in “American Idol” Season 7 back in 2008.

Later the same year, he released a self-titled studio album which debuted at number 2 on the Billboard charts, kicking off with the hit single “Crush.” This was followed by 2009’s “Christmas from the Heart.”

Now 20, Archie is all grown up as a musician. He is coming halfway around the world to prove just how much so.

The balladeer hits Philippine shores once more for a one-night only solo concert on July 18, 8 p.m. at the Araneta Coliseum.

He will be sharing his first love to the Philippines for the third time, after two previous visits in 2009 and 2010. Get ready to hear David Archuleta’s new songs from his latest album, “The Other Side of Down,” including the hits “Something ’Bout Love,” “Elevator” and “Falling Stars.”

David Archuleta is brought to you by Ovation Productions and ETC, in cooperation with 2nd Avenue, Talk TV, Diva, Basketball TV, Solar, Jack TV, The Philippine Star, Business World, Edsa Shangri-La, Home Radio 97.9, Mellow 94.7, RX 93.1, RJ 100.3 and Optima Sign Solutions.

THE BIG DO’s & DON’Ts AT THE BIG DOME

I think it’ll be helpfull to know the Do’s and Don’ts on David Archuleta Live in Manila 3 inside The Big Dome. I run through this at the araneta coliseum’s website and I thought it be kind of cool to share this with ya’ll.

The concert will be a blast – for sure – but it would be even better to make it as hassle-free as possible. So take out your notebooks and brush up on the Big Dome’s ultimate DOs & DON’Ts.

1. DO Plan ahead on where to park or just take the train
It is best to take the train (MRT and LRT2) and hop off at the Araneta Center stations. The short walk will do you good and prep your energy for the concert. If you insist on taking a car, there are several parking places within striking distance from the Big Dome. Apart from Gateway or Ali Mall, there is the Manhattan Parking Building, the Shopwise parking area and open parking lots around the Big Dome.

2. DO Line up at 2pm at the earliest
The concert’s still at 8pm, but we know, it’s just TOO EXCITING TO WAIT THAT LONG! We encourage you to come early to beat the traffic, but if you insist on coming REALLY early, please be reminded that the line only starts at 2pm. Have lunch first, do some last-day rehearsals or see a movie! The Araneta Center has over 300 restaurants for you to choose from and the only real stadium-seating Cineplex in the country – so go ahead and start having fun even before the concert. You already have a ticket to the concert, you’ll get in FOR SURE even if you line up just in time. ;)

3. DO Line up at the correct gate
For those with Patron, Lower Box, Upper A and Upper B tickets – you may line-up at the Red Gate (near North Park) or the Green Gate (near Starbucks). For those with General Admission tickets – kindly line-up at the Yellow Gate (near Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf).

4. DO Come in a comfy outfit and a light bag
There will be thousands of people at the Big Dome during the concert. And if you’re one of those fans who wants to lineup as early as 2pm, be sure to wear comfortable clothes and footwear to be ready for the crowd press, knee-slapping and foot-stomping.  And for quicker bag inspection at the entrance, just bring the necessities! Besides, it’s best to jump, dance and enjoy the music without the hassle of uncomfortable clothes and a heavy bag, right?

5. DO Enter at only 6pm
All gates will only open at exactly 6pm. Should you be in line earlier than 6pm and need to go to the restroom, there is one located on the Ground Floor of Gateway. You may ask your friends/companions to save your spot, leave the line and head to the Gateway entrance near the Yellow Gate – just take the escalator going down and you’ll find the restrooms at the corner.

6. DON’T Buy tickets from scalpers
Scalpers are individuals who sell tickets for a much higher price – usually to the highest bidder. Please remember that scalping is illegal and punishable by law. If a scalper approaches you, or if you witness any scalping activities, please report it to the nearest guard or staff of the Araneta Coliseum.

7. DON’T Bring in food and drinks
You may buy food and drinks outside the Big Dome while waiting in line, but these will no longer be allowed upon entering the gate. Don’t worry – various concessionaires are available inside the Big Dome, on every floor, near every section.

8. DON’T Leave the Coliseum once you enter
Even if you have your ticket with you, re-entry is strictly not allowed. Please make sure to bring everything you need upon entering the gate. For smokers, a separate area will be available beside the Red Gate and Green Gate.

9. DON’T Bring professional still and video cameras
DSLRs and video cameras are strictly prohibited and will be confiscated at the entrance.
On the other hand – point-and-shoot, simple digital cameras and phone cameras are allowed. Just bring these types and take as many pictures as you want!

Lastly…

10. DON’T FORGET TO HAVE FUN!!!
That’s the most important rule ;)
