Who would have thought the 16th of May 2009 will be one of the best days in history? An exaggeration? Of course not! Even concertgoers would agree! Having both Davids in one concert is already an achievement, what more having their fans in one concert? Now, that’s EPIC! But now is not the time to talk about that. It’s time to relive that moment–this time, last week.

David Archuleta Live in Manila! How awesome is that! We’ve been dreaming of this day and that day came. Never did we imagine to see him perform in our own country this soon but he did. True. Good things definitely come to those who wait. We’ve been loyal American Idol followers, YouTube junkies, and definitely cellcast addicts! All we wanted to do is live that moment–being able to watch him live, even just a glimpse of him. And now, we have. It has been the moment we’ve been reliving since the 16th and it’s definitely difficult to grasp that it has ended. But today is an excuse. This time last week, May 16, 2009, David Archuleta rocked the MOA concert grounds! It’s time to re-relive the moment! Hang tight, Archies!

Can’t let the music stop!

Fitting. Opening with Touch My Hand, David definitely owned the concert! Everyone was on their feet! (and chairs, literally! ) As casual people would say, he was energetic, on point and definitely definitely impressing! David jumping/bouncing to Can’t let the music stop! was awesome! He’s ROCKIN’! it! And the SCREAMS!!!! I love it! And the fans, the fans, the fans–The Pinoy Archangels–were definitely loving it! Take note, it’s only the first song! Haha! His energy exudes ours.

Too many barriers…I just want to say that this song is AMAZING LIVE! LIVE! The live version beats the studio version! Well, that’s for me of course! haha! But yeah, even David’s gestures and moves would make you groove! I think it’s a groovy song! In some ways of course. The R&B feel of this song is classic! It’s not the ordinary R&B tune we hear on radio these days. It’s classic yet current. David sings this song with Soul too! Too many locks! LOCKS! People can’t stop but sing with him too! The way he ended this song just shows how soulful he can be! AMAZING!

The intro is magical. The cool thing about concerts is the unique musical arrangement for live audience. Something new, something relevant. A Little Too Not Over You is definitely one of the best songs in the album. The new twist particularly in the intro of this song makes it more amazing! You can’t help but stomp your feet, move your body or even bang your head to the strumming of the guitars, beating of the drums, and the musical effects made for this song. Superb arrangement! Props to the band and the musical director of course! David’s performance also shows his vocal prowess. This song has that level of difficulty that David can only do. It’s an Archuleta trademark. His vocal prowess plus his ability to send the message and the feel of this song to the audience is PERFECTION. And, I believe, even one of us cried after this performance. Unbelievable? Well, BELIEVE IT.

Show me. Good things definitely come to those who wait. This one’s probably the most quoted statement from YOU CAN. As David would say, You Can is a simple and honest song and these song traits definitely make this a great song! The acoustic alternative feel of this song live will change non-fans’ perception of David. You Can is a ballad but it’s not an ordinary ballad. This ain’t cheesy! Sorry. It’s just not cheesy. It’s pure, honest and it has a message. And David just did that. A pure and honest performance that pierces everyone’s heart–rocker or not.

Another song about hands. That made me laugh! Even the crowd loved what David said and how he said it! Here’s another song about hands! haha! Well, if there’s a difference between him and Cook, that’s working on it with the crowd. Cook is a Pro and David’s personal. They both entertain but in a different level. David’s talk to his fans as normal people do. Like having a conversation–he forgets that he’s talking with a HUGE crowd of people. Haha! Just shows how real he can be. He’s honest and open. You’ll get to see more of this when he introduced Angels and A Thousand Miles. Now, it’s time to talk about MY HANDS. This version is sooooo AMAZING!!!! Even EPIC is an understatement. The verses would definitely sound like the CD but the chorus and the bridge is just WOW! I think most of us would agree that WE love how D changes certain parts of his songs when he sings live. This is most definitely one of those moments! This version of My Hands is oh so AMAZZZZIIIINGGG!!! The ENDING! The Soulful ending! SING IT! Fierce! The ending is Fierce! The crowd singing-a-long is LOVE! It’s an artist’s dream. The crowd singing his songs…PRICELESS!

Whistles…HOT! That was HOT! For me, Your Eyes Don’t Lie LIVE trumps the studio version! haha!!! David whistling! The crowd definitely loved that!!! This guy has lots of talents and whistling the way he does is one of them! If that makes sense…Folk, rock, soulful sound of YEDL proves how his music varies. They just don’t sound the same as others claim. Including YEDL in the setlist was a great decision! The MIA-like background music is awesome! I can’t believe I would say that! haha!

To be with you. Everyone wants to be with David and we are all thankful that we had the opportunity to watch him live and for some of us, even meet him. Ahhhh! The screams during this performance was out of love! Definitely! Him playing the piano makes it more special. The Kendra-David harmonies definitely improved from what we’ve been hearing the past few months of course! Their harmonies were of perfection! Plus the VIOLIN! Awesome! Awesome! As Simon would say…ASTONISHING! Some people were in tears during this performance too! *coughsAyracoughs* The last line is just LOVE!

How to save a life. The DA-Fray trademark! Don’t let go!!! Yet again, this song rocks LIVE! The alternative David rules! He exudes so much passion when he performs this song! Everyone just wants to the be the mic and the mic stand! Just by watching the concert, we know how everyone wants to be just that–a mic or a mic stand. The Fray fans would love the How to save a life insert on this song!

Bring yesterday back.How we wish May 16 will be May 16 again! We’ve been missing the concert for a week already and for sure we’ll get to miss it more in the coming weeks, months or even years…Waiting for Yesterday! The sci-fi intro definitely makes this arrangement unique. We’ve been hearing this version for several months due to his SOLO tour but witnessing this version live is totally different! It’s amazing! It’s catchy! It’s techno! It’s dancey! It’s everything! Waiting for Yesterday must be sung live! It’s needs to be! FLAWLESS! Come on sing you guys! Love it!

Beautiful girls. Top4! Top4! Top4! Brings back memories! Stand By Me/Beautiful Girls is one of our favorites during American Idol and what a treat it is that David sang this song to us. To us. Exclusive! The Philippines! The high note is unbeatable! It was perfect! And David singing beautiful girls made all the girls wild! haha! That’s for sure! The crowd was sooooo into this song! Everyone was singing! And it’s great!!! The archugestures for this song is LOVE! Stumble and Fall FTW!

A thousand miles.As mentioned earlier, David is quite the personal type when it comes to concert. He loves to share–his love for music, his passion and just almost everything about what he thinks. He might not be a pro per se since pros are most of the time just working the crowd and not give anything they could grasp on as the show ends. David wants to know his fans and his fans knowing him. It keeps them interested. Introducing A Thousand Miles as the first song he learned to play on piano is perfect. And him singing this Live here is makes it even more perfect than it already is. His version, for me, is better than that of the original. It’s more personal and he gets to be playful! haha! We all love the SMILES!!!

I’m loving Angels instead. ANGELS!!!! ANGELS!!!! ANGELS!!! This is an amazing song!!! One of the best songs ever! And David’s rendition is obviously, THE BEST! Well, don’t get me wrong, this is just an opinion from a fan’s point of view. I really believe this version is the most compelling one! David playing the piano and singing his heart out makes this performance special. This is a song for his fans and we love it! The concert will not be complete if he did not sing this. We are all glad he did! I think a lot of people were waiting for this performance! THIS IS CLASSIC!

It’s like ZERO GRAVITY!!! The most awesome performance ever! Even people outside the concert venue loves this song!!! David’s energy is undeniable!!! He has lots of it! LOL! He’s Mr. Pure Energy! Cool, huh? I like that Gary V! He was jumping, dancing and singing! And he”s SINGING! The high notes, falsettos WOW! And the crowd was jumping too! Halt those bouncers! You can’t stop the fans! Jump! Jump! Jump! It’s like ZERO GRAVITY! Some people were quite unfamiliar with the song but they love every moment of it! That, I guarantee!

It has come to an end. The Final song for the night is none other than the MIGHTY CRUSH! Definitely a fan favorite! It’s like everyone singing the song and barely hear David! Kidding! Of course we can hear him! But, this one’s just different since everyone was singing-a-long! HUGE HUGE HUGE HIT here in the Philippines! One of the best CRUSH live performance ever! Rockin’ performance!

Can’t let this feeling end!

It’s now time to end this moment–on this post only of course. We will continue to relive this moment as long as we want too. It’s too important not to cherish! David Archuleta made a lot of people happy! It’s a once in a lifetime experience for now. And we all hope this won’t end here. We’ve met new friends and of course we’ll meet new ones in the future. This is just one of the things David can make us do! He brings us together! And that’ll remain still.

The best part about this concert and the aftermath is, David gained new fans. More people now see what we’ve been seeing since he was on American Idol. Now, they have come to realize that David Archuleta is an artist, a songwriter and a performer. An artist, a songwriter and a performer who has to be taken seriously. That this is not about how young or how people perceives him to be, but how he as a musician can bring something new to the music industry.

This time last week, David opened to the door for good things to come…all we have to do is wait and continue reliving this moment.
