You Know He’s Famous
When He Gets Mentioned in Legislature Talk.
lol, random much?
Hang up your cellphones. Put down your cheeseburger and eyebrow tweezers. Stop balancing your Starbuck’s Ultra-Mega-Venti Chocolate-Chip Double Death Caffeine Frozen Latte between your knees. No more fiddling with your radio. And quit reading behind the wheel (Yes, we mean you, Rep. Mark Cohen).
After roughly 14 1/2-years of debate, the state House has finally signed off on a bill that enhances the penalties for many of the distracted driving offenses outlined above.
The bill doesn’t exactly make it illegal for drivers to use a hand-held cellphone behind the wheel. But it does allow cops to slap you with an extra-fine if they find out that your dialing 1-800-GOOD-SCHOOLSPA caused you to veer off the road and run down a pack of activists seeking more money for basic education.
The language was attached to a bill heaping further misery on teen-drivers, who would be barred from using a cell-phone or sending a text message behind the wheel unless they are reporting an emergency or an accident or see David Archuleta ordering at the local Sonic.
Adult violators, who should not, for any reason, like and/or listen to David Archuleta, would face an additional $50 fine. The legislation now goes to the Senate.
